A Museum Without Walls

Come… "Experience Ballona!®"

Ballona Discovery Park is an evocative 1.7-acre open-air science and cultural exhibit in the community of Playa Vista, adjacent to the Ballona Freshwater Marsh and Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve. It is designed to engage and educate visitors about the Ballona Watershed. This “museum without walls” was conceived by Friends of Ballona Wetlands and its partners, Loyola Marymount University and Playa Vista, with the guidance of Gabrielino/Tongva partners and other local stakeholders, and opened in 2011.

Located at 13110 Bluff Creek Drive, Playa Vista, CA, 90094, Ballona Discovery Park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

Ballona Discovery Park Partners is a non-profit public benefit corporation running the day-to-day operations of the Park.  The partnership consists of 9 board members, 3 from Friends of Ballona Wetlands, 3 from Loyola Marymount University and 3 from Playa Vista.  The primary purpose of the Partners is to engage in charitable activities for the benefit of the general public, including but not limited to: ownership, preservation, protection, maintenance and enhancement of Ballona Discovery Park.
